In august Shoshana Phillips, Kevin Scalzo, Luke Cavagnac and myself converged on the A.P.E. in Northampton for a colorful and energetic array of images.

Things that I do on the job.....

Masked figures develop in many mediums...

The small paintings(5x7on board) come out of a full brush and a brain that has been shut down, did I say that this freedom is the road to a content soul?


The work that gets done on canvas seems never ending at times, never satisfied, always painting over and over, waiting for something satisfying to emerge

The Masks are developing into a crowd....

The etching is printed and then flipped and printed in a different color.... "Flip Etchings"... To later be used as needed




Things are crawling .. slowly,
ideas begging for form...

Working... Wondering...
I try not to think about this so much but how can you not? What the hell am I doing???




What are these things? Who are these people?What are they after? Who are they hiding from?




Shana asked if they were bondage masks, I said "why would I be painting bondage masks, I was thinking of them as ski masks... " she said, "Why would you be painting ski masks?"

So many questions when you paint... I saw Judy Pfaff speak the other night she compared painting to a conversation you will never be able to win...

These 5x7"'s keep me busy when I'm not thinkin' about nothin' Then there they are!!
